The Valdez Family
Welcomes You
to Rabbit Hill Ranch
Welcome!

We are so glad you found us!  This is a picture of our family after picking 20 boxes of Bearss limes.  My name
is Tasha Valdez, I'm the mom in this picture.  My husband is Fred and those three cute kids are ours.  They
aren't particularly fond of this picture, but it shows you what we look like after some hard work at the ranch.  My
husband and I had been looking for years for a place with some land.  It is hard to explain why, but our excuse
was that we wanted a place for our kids to have the freedom to roam and explore.  What we found has been
more enjoyable for our family than we ever expected.

We purchased our 3 acres with a home and cottage in 2010, then spent the remainder of that year fixing up our
once, neglected property.  We call it Rabbit Hill Ranch because of the multitude of
rabbits that live here.  Visitors
that saw the property before the remodel can't believe the transformation.  But, the real reason Rabbit Hill Ranch
is so special is not because of the buildings, but rather the
storybook setting and sense of tranquility that it
invokes for all that visit.  The
main house and cottage were specially positioned to have dramatic views of the
beautiful Gird Valley.  The 1,000 foot deck sits above an extensive
herb garden and a grove of 130+ fruit trees.
Our
vegetable gardens and grape vines provide an abundance of produce.  We have added footpaths and
points of interest throughout the property to be explored.  Our goal is to have "destination spots" through out the
property designed by each family member.  Mine is already done.  It is located under the giant purple
Jacaranda
and
Olive tree canopies.  They form a sun sparkled cave in which to view the scenery reminiscent of the Tuscan
countryside by day or enjoy a meal by the twinkling lights at night.

My husband is currently working on his spot, which includes a number of terraced patios with views to the north
of the property.  I am trying to convince him to build an adobe wood oven so we can enjoy homemade pizzas
using the herbs and vegetables from the garden.  I will post some pictures if I am successful.

One of our favorite things to do at the Ranch is to sit on one of the ten rocking chairs and look out at the view.
We laugh because it is what you would typically think of someone doing when they are "retired" but now we have
grown to understand why someone might spend time sitting on their front porch rocker.

As you can see from the picture, we have three kids; a girl and two boys.  We don't live at Rabbit Hill Ranch full
time because we are so immersed with our friends and community in North County San Diego. We are so
thankful for this place and truly believe it is a blessing from God.  Our desire is to share this place with others.
We have a heart for hospitality, so naturally everything we have designed we have planned with entertaining in
mind.

I have been involved with scrapbooking for over ten years.  Over that time I have attended many scrapbook
retreats.  They inspired me to provide a place for people to getaway for a weekend of uninterrupted time to work
on their memory albums.  Rabbit Hill Ranch Retreats provides guests a break from the day to day hustle of their
busy lives with no dishes, no laundry, no running errands or interruptions. The entire weekend is focused on
spending time with friends while being productive at the same time!  You can find out more by clicking
here.

I became a Close To My Heart independent scrapbook consultant because I love their products.  Some
products will be available during retreats as well as online at my
Close To My Heart store.  I will also be offering
workshops which guide you through projects that can be completed in a few hours.  My scrapbooking endeavors
are not just confined to the Ranch. I will also be hosting
home gatherings at other locations, so let me know if
you are interested in being a hostess.  It is a nice way to earn free products.  As a thank you for everyone that
purchases products from my Close To My Heart store, they will receive a 10% - 20% discount to attend a
scrapbooking weekend retreat.  Look for other types of workshops in the future such as quilting, jewelry making,
legacy albums and "Christmas in July".

We will also be offering the ranch for short term vacation rentals.  The information is listed in more detail
here.
In short, we can sleep 15 people.  Amenities include:  two full kitchens, wireless internet, pool table, 60 inch
HDTV with cable access, excellent cell service, DVD player, hammock, BBQ, juicer, thousand foot deck with ten
rocking chairs and three acres of space to explore.  It is a great place for a family vacation or to hold family
reunions, small weddings, church groups or other get-togethers.  I have some experience in planning events, so
let me know if I can help.

Lastly, what do you do with
thousands of grapefruit, limes, oranges, figs, grapes, etc?  I make marmalade!
Interesting flavors like; Grapefruit, Bearss Lime marmalade (fine and course cut), Citrus (which is a mixture of
oranges, limes & grapefruit) and
Fig compote (ok not marmalade, but different and great poured over brie).
These and other products will be for sale
here, but also it is my plan to offer all of our guests some marmalade
to take home.  They might want to pick some fruit to take as well.  Nothing compares to fresh juice in the
morning (that is why I listed the juicer in the amenities section).

We are truly excited to have you as our guest at Rabbit Hill Ranch.  We want your time here to be as special for
you as it has been for us.  Please don't hesitate to
contact me if you have any questions or comments.  We
hope you will visit soon.

Sincerely,
The Valdez Family
